“2 hours in Melbourne”

Last winter, I did an interior photoshoot with client at Parkville, Melbourne. I arrived in the morning from Sydney, finished with client around 2:30 pm, and my flight back to Sydney was at 8:30 pm. I took my Nikon F80 film camera to shoot Melbourne CBD before heading to Tullamarine Airport.

I bought a Kodak film at local shop in Melbourne CBD around 3:45 pm and walked around the area. It was windy and quiet until about 5 pm when people started leaving work. It was both fun and challenging because I don’t know Melbourne well, where it’s busy or good for street photography, or the best time to shoot. June is winter in Australia, so 5 pm is already getting dark.

My film is ISO 200 and needs more light, so I had to finish all 36 frames before it got too dark. I kept walking up and down, deciding whether to save frames for later or use them now, worried about missing good shots or running out of film when i found something interesting.

These are the 36 frames based on frame by frame of the journey.
