Collaboration between Photography and Comics
When I received the offer from Maudy Koesnaedi of Abang None Jakarta Indonesia to collaborate with the exceptionally talented comics artist Sofyan for Jawara Play, I knew instantly that this project would hold a special place in my heart. I was so excited. As an experienced photographer at Boni Febrianda Photography, I've had the privilege of working on various creative ventures, but this collaboration was destined to be one of my favorites.
As the final pieces came together, we realized that our collaboration had exceeded our wildest expectations.
The highly anticipated and meticulously planned two-day photoshoot took place in our studio. Around 30 individuals collaborated to bring the vision to life, including our esteemed client, the talents, hair and makeup artists, wardrobe assistants, studio assistants, and a remarkable catering staff.
To turn the initial idea into photos, I need to ensure the lighting, poses, and dimensions are right for each scene. I capture them individually so Sofyan can combine them for the final comic.
The comic was exhibited at Gallery Kaya in Jakarta, Indonesia for two weeks in September 2015.
